Launched a website that reported on New York City, one street at a time, while working on my master’s degree in journalism at New York University. We chose a street, took writers on a walking tour, and asked them to pitch us stories that originated on that street. Topics ranged from gentrification, food, culture, New York subcultures, immigration, art, politics and the FBI’s investigation into Brooklyn’s Al-Farooq mosque as a possible funding source for al-Qaida.
