The Daily Gazette is Heather Graham’s first experience working with a daily newspaper.
After receiving her master’s degree in journalism from New York University, Graham’s career focused on digital: Developing one of the earliest lifestyle apps, starting the website Everyday Health and directing health news coverage for iVillage, an NBC website that merged with the “Today” show in 2013.
She joined the Gazette as digital director in July 2015 when she was looking for a new challenge and a chance to move out of New York City.
At the Gazette, Graham is directing a major website redesign, which will go live this fall, and updating the Gazette’s content management system — the back-end software that lets reporters and editors publish stories.
“The company is really investing a lot incrementally since I came on board as the first digital director of the company,” Graham said. “We’ve been expanding our staff, doing this redesign, upgrading the tools we use in the newsroom. We’re taking a real mind-set of let’s test this, let’s experiment.
